The belt bears his earlier full-name hallmark, “ROGER SKEET JR,” documented from the mid-1950s. According to Mark Bahti (2007), this stamp eventually broke, prompting the artist to resume using his initials “R.S.” and “RS.” Per consignor provenance, the belt was purchased from a private collector in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in the mid-1960s by her late brother and subsequently passed to her through inheritance. The leather strap is believed to be original.
