Description
A Navajo sterling silver pendant by Tillie John, featuring a large Kingman turquoise cabochon. The teardrop-shaped turquoise cabochon exhibits visible brown matrix and is set in a sterling silver bezel. It is surrounded by a twisted rope detail and an ornate scalloped outer border. A broad, plain bail is affixed at the top. The reverse of the pendant is stamped "STERLING" and "T. JON, " and also bears a white label that reads "TILLIE JOHN NAVAJO HANDMADE SS KINGMAN TURQ PENDANT $1,250." The silver exhibits a dark patina in recessed areas, consistent with age or intentional oxidation.
