Premier Native & Southwest Jewelry - Sept 13th
Lot 189:
Description
A pair of Zuni Native American sterling silver earrings attributed to Philander Gia, featuring needle poinot Kingman turquoise. Each post-back earring is crafted from sterling, presenting a rectangular, stylized form topped by a dome-like element and terminating in a row of five small spherical accents. The central design features five vertically-set, polished, rectangular sky-blue stones, appearing to be channel-set. The metal displays notable tarnish and oxidation, especially in recessed areas and on the reverse. While no maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible directly on the earrings, a separate label identifies the maker as Philander Gia and mentions "Zuni Handmade SS Kingman Turq Neck Set $500".
Each earring measures approximately 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) in height and 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) in width.
